From the moment the spring session starts, lives on the mother earth covered by the melting snows come about to grow and blossom. Each plantation tries to grow as tall as possible with its branches stretch wide enough, fighting to absorb all the sunlight it requires; and its root reaches as deep and wide into the earth to suck up the nutrients in the soil.
At the North Pole, Polar bears wake up with a flatten belly from at least 3 months of hibernation; their hunger and dehydration coupled with the super-sensitive sensing capability; lead them to look for the nearest food source to replenish their energy. With its weakened body and some cubs depending on them, the bears must look for the nearest target before they become the food source to the others.
On the African land, the end of the raining season signifies the beginning of the mating session. Male animals have to sharpen their skills to track for mating partners; or sometimes even have to sharpen their fighting skills before coming to courtship with the female species. The right to mate rests upon the social status of the beast, one has to short change the others.
After a successful courtship, together with million of other siblings the sperm must fight each other to reach and search for entry into the egg. Only one in a million will have the chance to survive. It is all encrypted into our DNA that one is a born winner. But one must short change the others. There is never friend but all foes. One must fight for its own right to survive without mercy or care on others.
In the adulthood of a human being, one learns about his “human rights to short change others”. For the sake of planting and harvesting crops for undisturbed food supply, one learns to fight and conquer others for occupation of land. For the sake of taking revenge on ones hatreds, campaigns and propagandas on human superiority were opted in the World War II to wipe out the other race entirely. For the sake of having cheap and stable crude oil supply, one framed an anti-terrorism war to which sacrifices on lives of own countrymen and thousand other innocents would be chosen. For the sake of racial superiority and personal ego, special economic schemes and quota systems were created to shun other races out from competition; and consequently draining talents and weakening the country. For the sake of own greed, one would to take advantages on job position; short changing the computer bag passed by a friend to you with his old one.
Short changing is all about the economic theory that “one person’s loss is another person’s gain”. The world should look at things from a different angle. Only when there is giving that one will receive. Only when we respect others that others will respect us. We should acknowledge that we are all different and unique. The earth and its resources are all ours. Trees grow but their branches will never undercut each others. Animals all live within their boundaries without crossing over to the others. Mankind could learn and depend on each other, inheriting the good values and sharing on fruits of achievement. Love and protect environment, respect nature as it will take care of us.
